System Tool 2011 Virus Version 2 - How to Get Rid of This Malware From Your PC

A lot of people have heard of the System Tool 2011 virus but recently the criminals who send out this malware have ramped up their efforts and the number of users infected with it has rocketed. Many people are finding that they are not only infected but some new strains of it will even run in safe mode and they cannot stop it at all, never mind to remove it. If you have a new strain of this malware on your computer you can take steps to get rid of the System Tool 2011 virus version 2 yourself.

Here is how to get rid of this malware.

#1 The first thing you should do is to enter safe mode and see if this malware is running. If it is you can still stop it by following the steps here, then get rid of it. To enter safe mode restart your computer and press the F8 key repeatedly before you see the windows start screen. Once you have done this a menu will be displayed on the screen. From this menu select safe mode with networking.

#2 As soon as you get into safe mode start task manager right away. To do this press the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys together and once it has opened go to the processes tab and look for a process called "System Tool 2011" without quotes. You have to do this quickly before the malware starts and when you find it click on it then click on end process at the bottom of the task manager box.

#3 Once you have done this delete the following registry entry for this malware.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\System Tool 2011

#4 Next search for any files and folders named System Tool 2011 and delete them. Once you have done this restart your computer and ensure you have been able to get rid of the System Tool 2011 virus version 2. The icon for it on the taskbar should be gone and you should not get any more fake system scans at all.

#6 Go to internet explorer then the tools menu, then internet options, connections and finally LAN settings. Once there uncheck the box marked use a proxy server if it is checked.
